General information

One award of $1,600 is available. Applicants must:

  • Have a demonstrated financial need.
  • Be an undergraduate student who self-identifies as a Métis.
  • Not be registered as an Indian under the Indian Act or as an Inuk on an Inuit registry.
  • Meet the government-mandated terms for receipt of an Ontario Trust of Student Support (OTSS) award.

The applicant must also be a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident; and an Ontario resident, meeting one of the following criteria:

  • Has lived in Ontario for at least 12 consecutive months up to the beginning of full-time post-secondary study.
  • The student’s spouse has lived in Ontario for at least 12 consecutive months up to the beginning of the current year.
  • The student’s parent(s)/stepparent(s)/ legal guardian/official sponsor has lived in Ontario for at least 12 consecutive months up to the beginning of the current year of full-time post-secondary study.
